At Tolly Farm, we can provide a warm, safe home away from home for your cat. Depending on your cat's personality, we have several options for accommodation and exercise of your feline companion.

Cats are most commonly individually housed indoors in large (2.5 cubic metres) accommodation to provide plenty of space to move, rest and play. They are provided with a litter tray, food and water bowls and a basket if you prefer not to provide one. For shy cats we provide hiding holes so that they can feel enclosed and protected and can venture out when they become confident.
Cat kennels are connected with internal cat flaps, so that units can be extended for family groups of three or more. The more space we have the more space we can offer, so there are perks for boarding during off peak times.
For regular visitors, long term stays or very outgoing cats with high energy requirements, we also offer an outdoor run with similarly sized individual cubicles. This does not suit all cats as they can feel very exposed in such an open space.
This area is currently being remodelled so watch this space.
Feel free to bring toys and bedding from home as this often makes your cat feel more settled. While we try our best to accommodate any and all personal preferences, KK Vallance's scratching post is about the limit of our capabilities - remember we must leave room for the cat!
Our cattery features a large fish tank through the middle of the atrium, so that the cats can become mesmerized by the movement going on in the tank, and this distracts them from the fact that there are cats they don't know housed across the room. Much like the hidy holes it helps the cats feel less exposed, so they can venture around during cleaning times of their own accord and as their confidence improves. The fish do not seem concerned when cats front up to the glass, in fact they follow them around, and seem to find it as entertaining as we do.
We feel that our individual housing is the best option for us to assess how your cat is eating, drinking and toileting. While we expect that at home our cats will cover a range of territory, confinement like this is more than adequate, as cats exercise isometrically (by stretching) and don't need to cover the ground like dogs do. They also sleep approx 16 hours per day or two thirds of their life!!!
